On Saturday, Oct. 10, Cokes Chapel United Methodist Church on Lower Fayetteville Road in Sharpsburg will hold a church-wide yard sale from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the church parking lot. The sale will feature clothing, household items, exercise equipment, and collectables. Homemade baked goods will also be available.
Event organizer Joyce Harman said, “We are always looking for creative ways to support missions. With the holidays right around the corner, the yard sale is a perfect way for folks to get a head start on their shopping list.”
Cokes Chapel’s associate pastor, the Rev. Dr. Wayne Ellis, said he thinks the yard sale is a great outreach vehicle to the community. “In the past, the church’s fundraiser efforts have supported Trinity Table in downtown Atlanta and Welcome House, a shelter for women and children of domestic violence. We also support international missions in Mozambique, South Africa and Stop Hunger Now! We’re a small church, but we are certainly making an impact,” he said.
