The city of Fayetteville is supporting the “Uniting for a Cleaner Fayette” initiative which will celebrate its kickoff event Saturday, Oct. 17.

Volunteers are needed that day from 8-11 a.m. to pick up litter on highways 314 and 85 and there will be a volunteer coordination meeting Thursday, Oct. 8, at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. Breakfast will be provided by the Waffle House on the north end of town from 8-8:30 p.m.

Local businesses will be donating gloves, bags, and other supplies. Each volunteer will receive a “Uniting for a Cleaner Fayette” T-Shirt.

If you’re interested in volunteering, contact Wanda Clark (404-307-0131) or Kristyn Daniels (770-851-3660).
