Caanon Mark PearsonCanon Mark Pearson, president of the Institute of Christian Renewal in Kingston, N.H, will teach on Biblically based healing at Church of the Holy Cross in Fayetteville at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13.

Pearson holds a master’s degree from Oxford University in England and a doctorate from Boston University. He is the author of the highly acclaimed book, “Christian Healing: A Practical, Comprehensive Guide,” which has been translated into several languages, and is now in its third printing.

Active in the church’s healing ministry for many years, Pearson regularly leads healing services, trains healing teams, and spent several years as a regional warden for the Order of St. Luke, an interdenominational healing ministry.

He and his wife, Dr. Mary Grace Pearson, have developed a whole-person healing center called New Creation Healing Center.  It combines medicine, Christian counseling, and prayer to minister to people in body, soul, and spirit.

In 2002 the World Council of Churches invited Pearson to be one of 26 international participants in a consultation on the ministry of healing held in Ghana.  He also participated in the second consultation, held in Chile in 2003.

A gifted organist and pianist, Pearson has given recitals and led music for conferences in the U. S. and England.  He loves both classical and contemporary Christian music.

In 1986 he was named an honorary canon of the Episcopal Church in the Philippines, a position still in effect.

He is also canon theologian to the Charismatic Episcopal Church in the United States.

Following Pearson’s teaching, prayer for healing will be available. Members of the community are invited.
