Against Peyton Riley

In Sunday’s AJC Metro section, page B3, an article written by Tammy Joyner reported as follows:

[Fayette County Republican Commissioner candidate Peyton Riley] “signed up with the Republican Party shortly after he qualified to run for office.”

After the Republicans suffered defeat for the first time in the last election, they are again ordered to district voting procedures.

However, their chances of winning are dimmed by newcomer Riley’s participation in the election. It therefore becomes impossible for Republicans to rally behind one candidate as the Democrats did in the last election.

Adding to the drama is the lack of previous participation by candidate Riley in commission meetings, public comments, Republican Party activities, and other support or efforts which would make his name known to the voters.

It helps the Democrats by splitting the Republican votes.
