Two fall sessions at Kenwood Park are scheduled for tennis drills for ages 15 and older through the Fayette County Parks and Recreation Department.

The drills are designed to help you improve your technique for the following shots that you will be encountering in competitive tennis: forehands, backhands, volleys, half-volleys, overheads, and serves. Emphasis will be placed on proper technique including back-swing, footwork, racket face control, and follow through, plus improving your court positioning. The class will also focus on avoiding injuries and building stamina.

All drills will include games and competition to put your new strokes to the test. Drills led by Mike Wilson, a P.T.R. Certified Instructor and an A.C.E. Certified Personal Trainer.

The first session is Sept. 5-26 from 6-7 p.m. and the second is Nov. 14-28 from 4-5 p.m. (all classes on Saturdays). Cost is $40 per resident and $60 per non-resident for the first session; $30 per resident and $45 per non-resident for the second session.
