Several “GymGuyz Health & Fitness” programs are available simultaneously this fall through the Fayette County Parks and Recreation Department.

An early-morning class titled “Improvise, Adapt, & Overcome” borrow from various sports, fitness conditioning approaches and military training. It will have something different each week such as functional strength, circuits, intervals and more. It is designed to help participants get over plateaus and keep progressing toward fitness goals. It is scheduled for 5:30-6:30 a.m.

A later morning class titled “Stroller Derby” is a post-natal class to help moms get fit by burning a ton of calories. It combines strength, cardio, flexibility, and core conditioning in a fun format that enables you to exercise while spending quality time with your child. Instead of finding child care for trips to the gym, you can incorporate your child as part of your fitness routine. Dads with strollers are also welcome. It is scheduled for 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Sessions for both programs are Tuesdays at McCurry Park and Thursdays at Kiwanis Park. Tuesday sessions are Sept. 1-22, Sept. 29-Oct. 20, and Oct. 27-Nov. 17. Thursday sessions are Sept. 3-24, Oct. 1-22, and Oct. 29-Nov. 19. Cost is $49 per resident and $73.50 per non-resident.

Participants can attend any eight Tuesday classes or any eight Thursday classes for $79 per resident or $118.50 per non-resident.

All of these classes are for ages 18 and older.
