When Gail Frantz of Peeples Elementary was named the 2015 Fayette County Teacher of the Year, she automatically became part of a very select group of educators. Now, a special ring on her right hand signifies her lifelong membership in this elite group.

Robert Smith of Balfour and school superintendent Dr. Joseph Barrow presented Frantz with the official Fayette County Teacher of the Year ring just prior to the start of school. Each year, Balfour donates the special ring to the winner.

As the county’s reigning teacher of the year, Frantz will represent Fayette in the 2017 Georgia Teacher of the Year competition. The finalists will be announced spring 2016.
