Moselle Hicks Phillips, 97, passed away on July 22, 2015. She was born in Hampton, Ga. on November 30, 1917 to Mose Roscoe and Susan Capps Hicks.
Mrs. Phillips was an active member of Stockbridge First Baptist Church and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. An avid gardener, she also had a love for sewing and embroidery.
Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, F. Porter Phillips.
She is survived by her daughters, Joanne Caldwell of Conyers, Sara (George) Lawrence of Fayetteville, Pat (Hulan) Stanfield of Peachtree City and Betty (Jake) Belin of Rancho Palas Verdes, Calif., seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Herbert Hicks of McDonough; her sister-in-law, Betty Hicks of Tucker, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 25, 2015 at in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Rev. Steve Murell officiating. Interment followed the service at Flippen UMC Cemetery, 3707 Jodeco Road, McDonough, Ga.
