No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.

Kathryn Jane Lindlief, 62, of Sharpsburg, Ga., graduated from this existence on June 22, 2015. God has taken her gently by the hand to lead her on along the road of life that never ends. She is at peace now, and out of pain.

Born Kathryn Jane Davis, Kathy lived in various US cities and abroad as a child, as the family followed her father’s assignments with the United States Army. Her family ultimately settled in Columbus, Ga., upon her father’s assignment to Fort Benning. Kathy was a graduate of Baker High School in Columbus, where she was voted “Miss BHS” and “Most Beautiful.”

She went on to graduate from Columbus State, where she met her future husband, Jeffrey Lindlief, and spent many happy afternoons watching Jeff play baseball. The couple married on July 10, 1977. After college, Kathy taught high school English and then worked for many years in the telecommunications industry with various companies, most recently as a Regional Manager for MCI. Kathy and Jeff lived in Marietta for many years and raised their son, Christopher, there.

Kathy was Jeff’s best friend and the love of his life for 43 years. She had a radiant and contagious smile, and striking blue eyes that conveyed her inner warmth. And yet Kathy’s outward beauty and radiance paled in comparison to her inner beauty and light. She was easy-going and free-spirited. She was funny. She was compassionate. She was forgiving. And she loved unconditionally and whole-heartedly. Her strength and determination in facing years of illness taught those who loved her most a significant lesson in perseverance and humility. She was a source of light and love in the truest sense.

She is preceded in death by her father, Joe Davis, and her brother, James Davis. She is survived by many who loved her: loving husband, Jeff Lindlief; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Jacque Lindlief; grandsons, Tyler and Cole Lindlief, whom she adored more than life itself; mother, Rose Ann Davis; sisters, Jo Ann Smith (Edward) and Sharon Hersh (Kenneth); sister-in-law, Jan McGarry (Jerry); nieces, Debbie Grimm (Brian), Michelle McGeeney (Michael) and Heather Gilhooly (Patrick); nephews, Chad Davis, Scott Davis and James Davis, Jr.; great-nephews, Michael and Sean; great-nieces, Kaitlyn, Nicole, Samantha and Ryan. On Jeff’s side, she is survived by three nieces, six nephews, four great-nieces and three great-nephews, and her beloved dog, Rokko.

Kathy will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Family and friends were truly the center of her world, especially her son and grandsons (her guardian angels). She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life will be held at Unity Atlanta Church on August 15, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. The church address is 3597 Parkway Lane, Peachtree Corners, Ga. 30092. P: 770-441-0585. Casual dress is strongly encouraged.
