Fayette County Administrator Steve Rapson was recently elected to serve as the 2015-2016 secretary-treasurer of the Georgia Association of County Managers and Administrators (GACMA).
GACMA members elected Rapson to the leadership role in a meeting in Savannah/Chatham County in conjunction with 2015 ACCG Annual Conference, the annual gathering of Georgia’s state county association. He will serve a one-year term and may then stand for election as vice-president of GACMA.
“I am honored to be selected as the secretary-treasurer of the Georgia Association of County Managers and Administrators by my peers who understand the sometimes-tough task of maintaining and balancing financial records,” said Rapson. “I look forward to working together with the Georgia county managers and administrators across the State of Georgia and bringing insight to how we can be more effective through resources provided through our county managers and administrators association.”
GACMA represents county managers and administrators and actively works to promote professional development and continuing education opportunities. During his tenure, Rapson will be responsible for the financial administration of GACMA and will help plan and conduct two meetings for county managers and administrators throughout the state.
