Melanie Dale will sign copies of her newly-released book, “WOMEN ARE SCARY: The Totally Awkward Adventure of Finding Mom Friends,” in Peachtree City and Newnan.

When Dale moved to Peachtree City following the birth of her son, she quickly discovered that finding mom friends was like dating, including scary pickup lines and awkward small talk. In addition, she realized how scary it can be to reach out to other moms, but also how rewarding “momlationships” can be.

“When you get past the scariness, other moms are fun,” Dale writes. “You’ll find that they’re covered in vomit just like you.”

In the book, Dale uses the four “bases” of the traditional dating metaphor to guide women into more intentional relationships with each other.

“We make each other better moms, better humans,” Dale writes. “We need each other because mothering is just too darn hard. Women Are Scary is our journey to each other, to finding our people and being other people’s people, to learning how to bless each other and not destroy each other.”

Dale will sign copies of her book on Saturday, Aprill 11, at Barnes and Noble at The Forum at Ashley Park, 342 Newnan Crossing Bypass in Newnan at 2 p.m.

She will also sign books at Saville Studios, 401 Dividend Drive, Peachtree City on Monday, April 13, from 10 a.m. to noon.
