0A Feb. 16 vehicle accident at approximately 11 p.m. on Ga. Highway 54 West at Veterans Parkway claimed the life of a Peachtree City man. Anthony Petranto, 26, died at the scene of the accident.
Sheriff Barry Babb said Petranto was driving a Toyota Corolla and had been traveling east on Hwy. 54. He was attempting a left turn onto Veterans Parkway. Petranto failed to yield and turned into the path of a Freightliner box truck that was traveling west on Hwy. 54.
Babb said it was raining at the time, adding that drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the collision.
The investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is ongoing.
