Marjorie M. Minton, Sharpsburg, died peacefully in her sleep January 16, 2015, with family present.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William John Orth, parents, Josephine and Clarence Russell, sister, Barbara Smith and stepson, Jerry Minton.
She played and taught organ and piano for many years and always had family dogs and raised their puppies, thus instilling a love of animals in her children.
She was a business owner in Virginia, as well as Georgia, including The Hen Pen in Warm Springs. She was a gifted artist and painter, incentives for opening The Hen Pen.
Her strong Christian faith was instilled in her children and continued in her involvement in her church and choir in Peachtree City.
She is survived by her second husband, Samuel Minton, son, William Orth (Kathy), daughters, Lynne Simpson and Diann Russell, a stepson, Ron Minton, and stepdaughter, Vickie Whitehead (Jerry), ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
The family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, in lieu of flowers.
A Celebration of Life Mass, officiated by Fr. Pavol Brenkus, is scheduled Wednesday at 11a.m., Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Peachtree City.
