Helen Inez Rupert, age 86, died at Piedmont Hospital in Fayetteville, Ga. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 of Congestive heart failure.
Helen was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandma, GiGi and loyal faithful friend. She will be greatly missed. She was born January 30, 1928 in Lodi, California to Alvin and Rosabel Holt. She spent her working years managing large apartment buildings in San Francisco, Calif., and after retirement she continued to stay active in the community by providing in-home care to the elderly.
Helen lived most of her life in the San Joaquin Valley and was a proud 3rd generation Daughter of the Golden West. She moved to Georgia a year ago to be near her granddaughter and family whom she loved dearly. She loved the new chapter in her life in Georgia and all the new friends she made at her home at Hearthside Peachtree City. She was thankful for her Widow’s group at Dogwood Church where she loved calling her new church home. She really loved all the places she got to visit exploring Georgia and visiting her great granddaughter in Florida.
Helen was a very faithful San Francisco 49er football fan. She and her husband enjoyed many years as season ticket holders at Candlestick Park. She was a lifetime member of the Delta Blood Bank and proudly gave blood regularly. She embraced life and always looked forward to the happenings of the day and change of seasons. She had a great love of going to the theater and would always jump at the chance to attend a play or production large or small. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden, reading and loved her many sweet poodles she has had over the years.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband of many years Wilbur Rupert and daughter Marla Harris. She is survived by her granddaughter, Kim Antram of Peachtree City, Ga.; nieces Judith Reedy of Tehachapi, Calif., Connie Tademy of Menifee, Calif.; nephew, Robert Holt of Washington; great-grandchildren, Kelsi Antram of Orlando, Florida and Darian Antram of Peachtree City, Ga.
A Celebration of Life was held at Dogwood Church in Tyrone, Georgia on Monday, December 29, 2014. Pastor Keith Moore of Dogwood Church officiated. Services will be held in Lodi, California at a Future time.
