With one exception, every winning high school varsity and junior varsity team of the 2014 Regional Academic Bowl is from Fayette County.
Fayette’s high school varsity teams swept their division, taking all but first place.
Fayette County High School took second place, followed by Starr’s Mill High School in third and Whitewater High School in fourth, rounding out the top varsity winners.
The county’s junior varsity teams had a clean sweep in their division, taking each of the four top spots.
First place went to Starr’s Mill, second place was Whitewater, third place was Fayette County and fourth place went to McIntosh.
All of the top four teams from both the varsity and junior varsity divisions will participate in the state meet Feb. 7 in Flowery Branch, Ga.
The regional, academic bowl is sponsored by Griffin RESA and is open to academic teams in the school systems of Butts, Fayette, Henry, Lamar, Newton, Pike, Spalding and Upson counties.
