For years the kind people who live on 206 Raintree Bend have been putting out their inflatable yard decorations to the delight of many, including my family. My daughter is 7 and cannot recall a Christmas without seeing the inflatables in their yard.
Although we no longer live in the neighborhood, we have family that does. We look forward to seeing the decorations every year, as usually a new one is added each year — Winnie the Pooh, Mickey and Minnie, even Yoda. We were so excited to see them out last week.
Then, today, such disappointment. The inflatables were gone and replaced with a sign — someone had slashed their inflatable decorations.
How sad. After all of these years, some idiot(s) had to ruin what didn’t belong to them. Not only did they rob the people of their possessions, but they robbed countless others of Christmas joy.
I do not know the owners personally, but I am so very thankful for all of the years that they have brought awe and wonder and delight to my daughter’s eyes and heart. We are grateful for all they have done, and hope that they will consider decorating again.
We also hope and pray that the criminals that did this will remember the reason for this season, and, perhaps, at a minimum, reimburse the owners for the damage they have done.
