The Fayette County High School Band hosted its own competition, the 33nd Annual Lafayette Marching Classic Oct. 18 at Tiger Stadium. Bands from all over Georgia came to Fayetteville to compete in this prelims/finals competition. The Marching Tigers performed in exhibition at the end of the day’s competition.
The Marching Tigers are under the direction of Band Director, Dr. Myra Rhoden, and Assistant Director, Mr. R. Kevin Brown.
The Fayette County High School Marching Tiger Band continued the tradition of musical excellence by being crowned the Grand Champions of the Heart of Georgia Marching Band Invitational in Warner Robins Oct. 4.
The band has earned the Grand Championship title the last three appearances at the Heart of Georgia competition. In addition to this year’s Grand Championship, the band was named the Class AAAAA Champion.
