0Diana Coutu Cates, 69, of Sharpsburg, Ga., passed away Oct. 3, 2014 after a long battle with cancer.
She was a member of Line Creek Baptist Church and Turin Baptist Church. She worked for Delta Airlines and Piedmont Airlines. She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Fayetteville Eastern Star Chapter and a member of the Lilly of the Valley Eastern Star Chapter in Bozeman, Mont.
She is survived by her husband Richard Cates; children Lisa Rae (Adam) Quackenbush, Sharpsburg, Ga.; Tony Proctor, Benbrook, Texas.; Richard Alan (Faythe) Cates, Virginia Beach, Va.; Roger Dale Cates, Buford, Ga.; Carol Denise Mercer, Sharpsburg, Ga; Susanne Michelle (Jonathan) Berry, Cleveland, Ga.; 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Thurs., Oct. 9, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City, Rev. John McDuffie officiating.
Burial will follow at Turin Memorial Gardens, Turin, Ga. The family will receive friends Wed., Oct. 8, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Support Group of Coweta County, 35 Woodridge Place, Newnan, Ga. 30265.
