The Southern Conservation Trust’s annual Farm to Table event is scheduled for Thursday, June 19 at Minter’s Farm.

This is an amazing event, full of good food and good fun. It is SCT’s largest fund-raising event of the year. We are looking to add new sponsors this year to help us in our conservation and public recreation projects.

We have just completed our 20th year of environmental efforts in the Southern Arc. We have experienced rapid growth within the last five years and look toward even more growth in the next few years.

One example is The Ridge, a 300-plus-acre public access preserve just off Ga. Highway 54 near Gingercake Road in Fayette County. On June 7 you are invited to preview this incredible new site during National Trail Day. Details will be available soon on our website.

And, for the second year, we are offering Camp Wild, an educational nature camp for youngsters (see link below). This camp sold out last year and we received extremely positive feedback.

You may have also noticed that the Southern Conservation Trust is seeking national accreditation. Public comments are encouraged through June 1. This national accreditation is a multi-year process which will elevate our trust to the top tier of trusts in the country. Currently only about 1 in 4 land trusts is nationally accredited. A link is available on the home page of our website: http://sctlandtrust.org/ which explains the process and links to the public comments page.

We have multiple opportunities for engagement with the Southern Conservation Trust. Whether it be attending/sponsoring Farm to Table, serving on our advisory board or board of directors, being a volunteer or member, or attending other events or one of our many public recreation areas, we welcome your involvement.
