Senoia has a reputation for putting on a large variety of premiere events. But there is nothing quite like the annual Memorial Day Remembrance Parade and Festival that attracts thousands each year.

The action will begin at 10 a.m. on Memorial Day with a non-stop variety of live entertainment downtown at Main Street and Seavy Street. The patriotic program will begin at noon and will be followed by more live entertainment leading up to the parade which begins at 2 p.m.

Events at noon include a program honoring veterans and a “flyover” to cap off the ceremony.

The parade serves at the centerpiece for the Memorial Day events. Among the many entries will be the 116th National Guard Army Band.

Before and after the parade, Main Street will be filled with music, food, a children’s area with rides, face painting, sand art and more than 50 antiques, art and handmade craft vendors.

The activity in the downtown area will pause at 3 p.m. for the National Moment of Silence and will be followed by a mini-concert by the 116th Army band.

The Senoia Welcome Center on Main Street will be open during the festivities to “meet and greet” veterans, including those from World War II.

Memorial Day events will end after the fireworks display at dusk, held at Marimac Lakes on Pylant Street. Parking will be available at the ball fields on Howard Road, a short walk to the lake.

Those wanting to participate in the parade are asked to contact Gail Downs at 770-378-6627 or Suzanne Helfman at 770-599-8182.
