0Former Fayette County School System interim Superintendent Dan Colwell has been appointed to the District 2 seat by the Fayette County Board of Eduction.
A Monday afternoon meeting saw Colwell appointed on a 2-0 vote. Board members Bob Todd and Marion Key voted in favor of the motion while board member Leonard Presberg abstained.
Board member Barry Marchman was not present at the meeting.
The board recently interviewed 10 candidates vying to fill the unexpired term of board member Mary Kay Bacallao who resigned her post to run for state school superintendent.
