Kathy Ann Packard Hoffman, 61, died March 25, 2014 at her home in Coweta County near Palmetto, Ga.
A service was held on Tuesday, April 1, at 6:00 in the evening at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Chapel, 821 Old Atlanta Highway in Newnan, Ga. The interment will take place at the Harmony Grove Cemetery in Lockeford, Calif. on Friday, April 4th.
Kathy was born 28 March 1952 in Los Angeles, Calif., to David Packard and Vera Block Packard.
She graduated from Culver City High School, California in 1970 and from Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah in 1974. She married Roger V. Hoffman in 1972 and became the mother of six and grandmother of seventeen children.
Kathy lived at Williams AFB, Ariz., and Gilbert, Ariz., in Houston and Dallas, Texas, and in Orem, Utah before moving to her home near Palmetto, Ga. in 2009. She enjoyed gardening and was an exceptional seamstress. Kathy loved to spend time with her husband, children, and grandchildren, and often traveled to visit friends and family members who lived far away. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, she served in many volunteer positions with the church, most recently as a committee chair in the church’s local unit of the Boy Scouts of America. She is known by all her family and friends for her wisdom, intelligence, creativity, kindness, and generosity. God and family were always first in her heart.
She is survived by her husband, Roger; daughter and son-in-law Rebecca and Russel Carlson of Laie, Hawaii, daughter and son-in-law Rachel and Dallyn Bayles of Natick, Mass., son and daughter-in-law Joseph and Kelly Hoffman of Portland, Ore., son and daughter-in-law Jason and Tiffany Hoffman of Palmetto, Ga., son and daughter-in-law James and Angela Hoffman of Livermore, Calif., son and daughter-in-law Jonathan and Brittany Hoffman of Oakland, Calif.; grandchildren Amber, Benjamin, Colin, Daniel, and Eian Carlson of Laie, Hawaii, Audrey, Warner, Joseph, Nathan, and Merida of Natick, Mass., Isaac and Eli Hoffman of Portland, Ore., Rachelle, Megan, Elaine, Anneliese, and Claire of Palmetto, Ga.; sister Deborah Packard of Culver City, Calif., brother and sister-in-law Mark and Brenda Packard of Ventura, Calif., and brother and sister-in-law Timothy and Sally Packard of Colorado Springs, Colo.
