Elizabeth MacColl Horton Adams, a Darien resident for 21 years, died at home in Indian Harbour Beach, Fla. on March 06, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was 63 years old.

Born June 12, 1950 in Hartford, Conn. “Liz” as she was known to all, was the daughter of the late Reverend Doctor Lawrence MacColl Horton and Janet Curtis O’Leary Horton.

Mrs. Adams moved to Atlanta in 1973 where the family lived for 32 years. In 2004 she moved to Florida. She graduated from Endicott College in 1971 and went back to school at Clayton State College in Atlanta to become an RN. She practiced nursing for 28 years.

Liz is survived by her husband Richard Griswold Adams, of Indian Harbor Beach; a son, Benjamin Griswold Adams of Cumming, Ga.; a daughter-in-law, Kathryn Adams; a brother, Peter Horton of San Diego, Calif.; three grandchildren, Ashley, Kate, and Luke; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 26, at 2 p.m. at the North Fayetteville United Methodist Church, Fayetteville, Ga. Burial will be at the Georgia National Cemetery, in Canton, Ga.
