Alex Ashley of Starr’s Mill won the AAAAA state championship in the 285-pound weight class during the state meet at Loganville High this weekend, winning four straight matches to finish the season at 43-1.

Ashley won the final match 8-3 over Malik McNeil of Cambridge, according to the results posted at trackwrestling.com. Teammate Cory Carter won two matches in the 220-pound class to take sixth place.

Whitewater’s Alex Walker won three out of five matches and came in fourth at 160. Reid Loveless (106) won four matches and finished fifth, while Zach Thorne (132) had three wins and posted a sixth-place finish.

Caleb Seller of Fayette County won four out of six matches at 106 pounds in the AAAA meet at West Laurens High, giving him fourth place. Fellow Tiger Kimani Nasrullah (182) won three matches and came in sixth.
