Mrs. Frances Annette Hines Brumbach, age 97 of Tyrone, Ga. (formerly of East Point, Ga.), died December 6, 2013.

Frances was born in Leesburg, Ga. on October 27, 1916 to the late Marsh and Minnie Hines.  She graduated from Georgia State Woman’s College (now known as Valdosta State University) and enjoyed a rewarding career as a third grade teacher. 

Frances, known affectionately as Mema, was a much beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A classic Southern lady, Frances was known for her loving and gracious spirit and her love for children. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Brumbach.

She is survived by her daughter, Christine Brumbach Gardner; grandchildren, Jennifer Rocco (Dan), Rick Gardner (Betsy), Andrew Gardner (Jennifer); and her great-grandchildren, Asher, Ansel, and Ariadne Rocco, Zachary Gardner, Maddox, Gracie, and Liam Gardner.

The funeral service was held at The Cathedral of Christ the King in Sharpsburg, Ga. on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 2 p.m. with Bishop David Epps officiating.

Interment was held at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park, Ga. following the service.  The visitation was held at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home in Peachtree City on Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Donations may be made in her memory to The Cathedral of Christ the King.
