After a year’s hiatus, the Great Georgia Airshow will be back at Falcon Field (aka Atlanta Regional Airport) Oct. 11-13 with extra pizazz, including a new Friday night-only fireworks show featuring airborne pyrotechnics, strobes and spotlights.

The airshow will run Friday from 3-9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Aerobatic performers this year include the Misty Blues All-Woman Skydiving Team, Vertigo Air Shows, Firebirds Extreme and more. But this year’s show brings an upgraded experience beyond the airshow and the static aircraft displays, with much more to do for the younger set, with inflatables and other “experiences” including warbird and helicopter rides, a zip line, a wind tunnel and monster truck rides.

The air show this year will also feature craft beer and music to further enhance the experience, with performances slated from Madison Rising, a rock band performing guitar-heavy music with a patriotic message and sound.

Also on tap will be an Aviation Education Expo, which will present various educational and career opportunities in aviation.
