Two Riverdale men have pled guilty to the May 3 robbery of employees at the Burger King restaurant in Fayetteville.

Kameron Cornell Murray, 21, and Gregory Christopher Young, 20, were sentenced to 12 years in prison last week by Fayette County Superior Court Judge Fletcher Sams.

Both defendants will also be placed on probation for eight years following the prison terms.

Murray and Young each entered a guilty plea to armed robbery, according to Fayette County Assistant District Attorney Warren Sellers.

The incident happened May 3 around 10:30 a.m. when one of the suspects was armed with a .38-cal. handgun and the other had a BB pistol which were pointed at store employees, Sellers said. The workers were ordered into a break room and forced to lie on their stomachs, and some had their cellphones taken as well, Sellers added.

Murray and Young got away with two drawers from cash registers, but a witness was able to give police a tag number and description of the vehicle, which was soon located by police with the defendants and the cash drawers inside, Sellers said.
