Mrs. Mary Lou Joyner Dollar, age 76, Brooks, Ga. died Thursday morning Feb. 28, 2013 at Southwest Christian Care Hospice following her battle with stomach cancer.
Mary was born in Henry County on Feb.18, 1937.
She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas Edward Joyner and Leila Mae Moore Joyner, 3 loving siblings her sister JoAnn Morton and her brothers Gerald Joyner and Donald Joyner.
Survivors are her husband of 57 years Donnie Dollar, daughters Sonya Hodgson and her husband Jeff of Brooks and Laurie Penland of Brooks; grandchildren Tyler Hodgson, Katie Hodgson, Chase Penland and Austin Penland; Sister Jeanette Goodman and brothers John Joyner, Jimmy Joyner, Carlton Joyner and David Joyner and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmamma. She was always thinking about others. Many, many family members and friends have enjoyed her love, hospitality and delicious cooking for years. She was an active member of the Brooks Woman’s Club and a member of Brooks Baptist Church.
Visitation for Mary Dollar is scheduled for Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Carl J. Mowell and son Funeral Home in Fayetteville from 6 – 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be Sunday, March 3, 2013 at 2 pm at the funeral home.
