Fayetteville Police detectives were out all day Feb. 23 in the Fenwick Commons subdivision off South Jeff Davis Drive to process the scene after nine homes were targeted by a burglar just hours earlier.

It appears that one person was responsible for the late night spree that had two homes entered and cash stolen.

Det. Mike Whitlow said nine homes on Brittany Chase off South Jeff Davis Drive were targeted by what is believed to have been a lone burglar. Two of the nine homes were entered, Whitlow said.

Cash was taken from one of the homes while there was no report of anything stolen in the other entry, he said. The remaining seven homes had a screen door cut or sustained damage to an outer door, Whitlow said.

The burglaries occurred early Saturday morning between 4-6 a.m., Whitlow said. Officers were notified a few hours later and were on the scene at 9:30 a.m., collecting evidence and processing the scene at the nine residences. Whitlow said the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office provided a K-9 unit at the scene.

“Residents in the area are being very vigilant about keeping their property safe,” Whitlow said.

Anyone with information pertaining to these crimes, including anyone who might have seen a vehicle or a person in the immediate area during the hours of 4-6 a.m. on Saturday, is asked to contact Fayetteville Police at 770-461-1441.
