Reverend Frank Floyd Strickland, 89, of Thomaston, Ga. passed away Jan. 28, 2013.
He was born March 5, 1923 in Winter Garden, Fla. He was ordained as a Baptist minister in 1948 and served within six churches.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Sarah Strickland and two grandsons.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years Julia Strickland of Thomaston; sons Rocky (Melba) Strickland of Yatesville, Jarrell (Shelia) Strickland of Macon, Jeff (Debra) Strickland of Fayetteville; daughter Ellen (Eddie) Guthrie of Fayetteville; two sisters; one brother; seven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Reverend Hubert Smith officiated. The burial followed at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Forest Park.
The family received friends Wednesday at the funeral home.
