Marjorie Florene Barnett Burel, age 83, of Tyrone, Ga. died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013.
She was born in Hapeville, Ga. to the late Phillip Hansel and Julia Kidd Barnett.
She was preceeded in death by her husband of 60 years, the late Raymond J. Burel. Marjorie was a devoted wife, mother, Nannie and a life-long member of Hapeville First Baptist Church. She loved God and her family. She worked for Delta Air Lines then several government agencies ending up at Fort McPherson before quitting in the late 60’s to become a full-time housewife and mother.
Marjorie is survived by her daughter: Julie (Howard) Force, Stockbridge, Ga.; grandchildren: Brandon, Sydney and Taylor, Stockbridge; nieces: Eleanor (Bobby) Barnett, Stone Mountain, Ga.; Jeanne (Terry) Fowler, Covington, Ga.; Suzanne (Charlie) Schroeder, Rome, Ga.; and nephew: Dave Barnett, Hapeville, Ga.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 at Hapeville First Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Lacey and Rev. Ronald Hinson officiating. Interment will follow at College Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hapeville First Baptist Church, 612 College Street, Hapeville, Ga. 30354.
