The Rev. Canon Daniel Hale III, and the Rev. Canon Paul Massey, both residents of Peachtree City, received Commendation of Excellence awards from Bishop David Epps, pastor of the Cathedral of Christ the King, for their work in the Charismatic Episcopal Diocese of the Mid-South.

In the diocese, Hale has served as canon liturgist, member of the Bishop’s Council, bishop’s chaplain, and archdeacon. He has conducted several training classes for licensed liturgical ministers. He also served for over two years as the interim pastor of St. Matthew Charismatic Episcopal Church (CEC) in Hogansville.

In the community, Hale serves as auxiliary chaplain at Piedmont Fayette Hospital in Fayetteville.

Massey, founding pastor of The Church of the Holy Cross CEC in Fayetteville, has served as canon to the ordinary, member of the Commission on Ordained Ministry, member of the Bishop’s Council, member of the Archbishop’s Council of the Archdiocese of the Southeast, and, in the community, serves as a chaplain for the Peachtree City Police Department.

Massey also authors a monthly column for The Citizen newspaper, “Ask Father Paul.”
