It was a case of forced robbery Dec. 21 when two Fayetteville women visiting the Lafayette Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Brandywine Boulevard were attacked in the parking lot and had their car stolen.
Fayetteville Police spokesperson Debbie Chambers said the incident occurred at approximately 2 p.m. as the two sisters, one in her 60s and the other in her 80s, were in the nursing home parking lot.
A black male came out of an adjacent wooded area, pushed the woman in her 60s to the ground and stole the car belonging to the woman in her 80s, Chambers said.
A weapon was not used in the robbery, Chambers added.
The woman who was pushed to the ground was treated at the scene for minor injuries but declined hospital transport.
Chambers said the stolen car was recovered on Dec. 23 in Lanett, Alabama.
