Mr. Hiram Atwood Walters, age 87 of College Park, passed away on Saturday, Nov.10, 2012 at Sacred Journey Hospice.

Mr. Walters was born in Ovett, Miss. on Nov. 12, 1924.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Walters was retired after 27 years as a Lt. Col with the United States Air Force, having flown missions in World War II, Korea and Vietnam and being awarded the distinguished Flying Cross.

Survivors include his wife, Eleonore Ehrt Walters; daughters and sons-in-law, Christine Walters, Susan Holt, Annette and George Christiansen, Lori and Russ Vermillion, Linda and Robbie Lynch; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation for Mr. Hiram A. Walters will be Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, following the visitation funeral services will be conducted in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend C.C. Hinton will officiate.

Interment will follow on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012 at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Ga. at 2 p.m. with full military honors.
