Fayetteville plays host to several large events this Saturday, Nov. 3, that will cause traffic delays in downtown Fayetteville, according to Fayetteville Police Capt. Steve Crawshaw.

“Expect delays primarily between 11 a.m. and noon along southbound Highway 85 and westbound Highway 54 near the downtown square,” Crawshaw said.

The Veteran’s Parade starts at 11 a.m. on Lafayette Avenue and will make its way south on Ga. Highway 85 to Lanier Avenue where it will turn west, headed to Tiger Trail, Crawshaw said.

The parade then turns north on Tiger Trail and ends at Lafayette Avenue. The best viewing area for the parade will be along Lanier Avenue between Hwy. 85 and Tiger Trail.

Public parking is available in downtown Fayetteville adjacent to businesses and at the Stonewall Complex at Hwy. 85 and Stonewall Avenue.

The second traffic event happens two hours later as The Zac Brown Band performs at the Southern Ground Amphitheater at 1 p.m.

“Concert-goers who arrive before noon will need to turn west onto Hood Avenue (one block south of Hwy. 92) from Hwy. 85 then south on Tiger Trail to the amphitheater in order to avoid Veteran’s Parade traffic,” Crawshaw said.

All access routes to the amphitheater will re-open shortly after noon. Parking for the concert is located just off of Tiger Trail between the amphitheater and the Fayette County High School.

“Drive safe, be patient, and enjoy these two great events in Fayetteville this Saturday,” Crawshaw said.
