A report to a Fayette County School Resource Officer in early October led to the arrest Oct. 26 of a Jonesboro man on charges of aggravated child molestation.
Daniel Lee Wenzel, 19, was charged with child molestation and aggravated child molestation, according to Fayette County Sheriff’s spokesman Brent Rowan. The charges are in connection to the molestation case that occurred on several dates between 2010-2012 at a Fayette County residence, Rowan said.
Rowan said the case involves Wenzel having inappropriate sexual contact with a female juvenile who was 12 years of age when the incidents began to occur. The victim, who is now 15, reported this case to a School Resource Officer on Oct. 3, said Rowan.
Wenzel is currently being held in the Fayette County Jail with no bond.
Rowan said the case is still under investigation.
