Sabrina Tugendrajch Howell and Robert Gardner Berschinski were married Saturday, September 22 at Sharp Rock Vineyards in Sperryville, Va. Eliot Pence, a friend of the couple, officiated.
The bride’s cousin, Siena Tugendrajch served as maid of honor. The groom’s brother, US Army Captain (Ret) Dan Berschinski, was best man.
The couple met while attending Yale University, she as an undergraduate and he as a graduate student returning after deployment to Iraq. They graduated from their respective programs in 2008.
The bride is a PhD candidate in Economics at Harvard University.
She is the daughter of Lydia Tugendrajch and David R. Howell of New York City. The bride’s mother is a corporate immigration attorney in private practice. The bride’s father is a professor of economics and public policy and directs the Doctoral Program in Public and Urban Policy at The New School.
The groom is the director for Security and Human Rights Policy on the staff of the National Security Council at the White House, Washington D.C.
He previously served for four years as an intelligence officer in the US Air Force, with operational assignments in Korea, Germany, Rwanda and Iraq. He is a 1998 graduate of McIntosh High School in Peachtree City and a 2002 graduate of Yale, which he attended as an Air Force ROTC cadet.
The groom’s parents are Bob and Susan Berschinski of Peachtree City. His mother is a retired mathematics teacher, most recently at JC Booth Middle School in Peachtree City. The family owns and operates Hometown Directories Inc, a publisher of online business directories serving the metro Atlanta area.
Following a honeymoon in India and Bhutan, the couple will reside in Washington, D.C.
