Congregation B’nai Israel of Fayetteville will observe the traditional Jewish High Holidays this month.

The initial service for Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) will be held at 8 p.m. Sept. 16, and a morning service for the New Year will begin at 10 a.m. Sept. 17.

Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement, will begin starting at 8 p.m. Sept. 25 with the Kol Nidre service that traditionally marks the beginning of Yom Kippur. It is the most solemn and introspective day for the Jewish people.

The Yom Kippur morning service will begin at 10 a.m. on Sept. 26, and the observance will end with a Yom Kippur/Yizkor service beginning at 4 p.m. This service includes prayers in memory of those who have died and pledges of financial support for the synagogue and other worthwhile charities.

All services will be led by Rabbi Louis Feldstein. The synagogue is located on Ga. Highway 54 east of downtown Fayetteville near the intersection with Corinth Road.

Tickets for non-members of the synagogue are $75 per person for each holiday or $150 per person for both Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. More information may be obtained by calling the synagogue office at 678-817-7162.
