What is it with you pathological lie lovers? (And I know I am asking a very fringe progressive minority of Americans).
You cling to the First Amendment as though it were written yesterday; it was written 228 years ago, and back then, the “free speech” was quill, ink, paper, and pony express/stages. Nothing in it stated that a lie was protected free speech. What if the amendment stated: “Only truthful speech were allowed”?
Even I would approve of that, as I despise liars and those who habitually lie. Why do any of you need to lie to support your gun control agenda? Oh, that’s right, you have no facts not manufactured by a biased, extremely small left wing minority.
How anyone can find “beauty in a well-designed and manufactured lie and live off the funds generated by such a lie” is beyond my comprehension. There is absolutely no beauty, much less functional use of a “manufactured and designed” lie, that, when used to enable a law, does nothing constructive and only enables more violence.
Oh, I forgot! The gun is a sentient being, with supernatural powers to load, aim, and fire itself. Yet in the most severe case, it will use its ESP to force a person in close proximity to commit a violent act. Uh, didn’t we have a good demonstration of Loughner and Holmes listening to and believing voices? Yeah, we did; how violent those mentally ill people were who believe that.
We see since the 1930s when the NRA and other pro gun organizations began to implement firearms training, the effects on accidental firearms deaths. The US went from 112.8 million population and over 2,500 accidental firearm deaths to 2009 with 312 million population, 100 million more firearms, and only 610 accidental deaths, 100 of which were 0-18 yrs olds, a 75 percent reduction. So we can understand why someone should teach a 12-year-old to handle a firearm.
So explain again why the number of deaths did not rise at the same 167 percent population increase.
When I was younger, and just home from the service, my mother had asked me to run some groceries home during my lunch break. As I walked in to my parents’ house, here is my 5-foot-1-inch, 100-pound mother and hell’s breaking loose yell going full blast.
Came around the living room corner, and here is this 6’2” 300+ lb monster trying to break in the back porch sliding door.
I yelled and told him to leave, not that politely either. He replied F-U and at that instant, he had a custom Model 29 4” .44 magnum in his face. Oh wait, concealed carry was not legal then. The burglar wannabe turned white, crapped himself as he ran off the deck, and no shots were fired.
But, hey, Hugh Buchanan can guarantee that the burglar whom we found out later had a felony history of assaults on women wouldn’t have harmed my mother, eh? Yeah, just like those 4.8 million violent crimes not reported each year (USDOJ National Victimization report 2008).
This wasn’t reported either as what charges could you make stick on a career criminal who makes a living manipulating the legal system? Such a common occurrence.
Where were the police? Oh that’s right, courts have ruled dozens of times they have no duty to protect the individual civilian.
In fact, if one reviews the FBI UCR, USDOJ National Victimization report 2008, and the US federal court statistics, we see on average only 8.06 percent of violent crimes ever get solved.
We even review USDOJ Background Check & Firearm Transfer report 2008 with the DOJ Firearms use by Offenders and see how less than 1 percent of the 1 million felons since 1994 haven’t been prosecuted for attempting to buy from a licensed source.
Not to mention the 830,000 others including the crazies, 100 percent who using fake identifications to pass background check as identified in GAO study reported 3/2001 by CBS, or the 95 percent of felons who don’t even attempt to buy from a licensed source anyway.
Lets not forget Haynes vs US 390, 85, 1968, where the US Supreme Court ruled 8-1 felons did not have to follow any law requiring them to violate their 5th amendment right of no self-incrimination, making oh what, 85 percent of gun control laws which require identification not applicable to felons.
Oh, so much more people like Hugh can’t refute.
No, people who wax poetic and have nothing to substantiate their position and can only promote a pathological lie that gun control reduces violence is a waste of time, money and efforts as they accomplish nothing but piling up lies, fear, and rhetoric, nothing more, always less and the violence always continues.
