The annual Brooks Day fundraiser for the Brooks Area Little League will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the baseball fields in downtown Brooks.
Among the events are a free Hit, Pitch and Run contest for children ages 5-14 (for baseball and girls softball players), a homerun derby contest for ages 7-17 with a $5 entry fee and even an adult homerun derby contest for those 18 and up.
There will also be a hotdog eating contest with a $3 entry fee, kiddie rides and games, three-legged races, sack races, face painting, a silent auction and more.
Also back this year is the satisfyingly destructive sledgehammer event in which all ages can take a sledgehammer to a junk car.
There will also be local entertainment and vendors from all over Georgia.
Armbands for the event will cost $6 per person. Proceeds will benefit Brooks Area Little League, which takes participants from a large chunk unincorporated Fayette County along with the city of Fayetteville.
