Robert Ladd, Fayette County Post 105 of The American Legion lowers the colors to half staff this month in honor of 1st Lieutenant Robert Collins, U.S. Army, who was killed in action on April 7, 2010 during combat operations in Iraq. Collins was a 2004 graduate of Sandy Creek High School, a graduate of West Point Class of 2008 and a member of Post 105 in Fayetteville. The “1LT Robert Collins Patriot Spirit Scholarship” had been established by his parents to perpetuate his memory.
