The elders, deacons and members of Redemption Fellowship have announced that the Rev. Stephan Cobbert has accepted the call to the position of senior pastor.

Cobbert comes to Redemption from Providence Church in Birmingham, Ala., where he served as senior pastor.

Prior to serving at Providence Church, Cobbert was instrumental in planting missions churches, both in Houston, Texas and Lithonia, Ga.

Cobbert received his masters of divinity and Th.M. from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Ga., in 1997.

He and his wife Monica now reside in Riverdale.

“After a long and thorough search by our Pastoral Search Committee, it was obvious Pastor Cobbert was God’s man for Redemption Fellowship. We are excited he is here and anticipate a long and successful tenure,” a church spokesperson stated.

The Installation Service will be held Sunday, Feb. 26, at 6 p.m. in the Redemption Fellowship Sanctuary with a reception following. The community is invited to attend.

Redemption Fellowship is at 418 Ga. Hwy. 279 in Fayetteville.
