Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). In an effort to better educate the local community on this deadly disease, Piedmont Heart Institute along with Piedmont Fayette Hospital and Piedmont Newnan Hospital will host a Healthy Heart Fair Saturday, February 11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event takes place at Piedmont Heart Institute Physicians located at 20 Francis Way in Sharpsburg.
The Healthy Heart Fair will offer a variety of health screenings, including blood pressure, body Mass Index (BMI), cholesterol and glucose. Free healthy heart educational materials will also be available in addition to consults with clinicians and hospital staff about disease prevention, fitness maintenance and tips to improve individual health and well-being.
