GriefShare starts Jan. 19 at PTCUMC
GriefShare, A 14-week series open to anyone in the community grieving the loss of a friend or loved one, will begin on Thursday, Jan. 19 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. in Room 308 at Peachtree City United Methodist Church, 225 Robinson Rd. The program is Christ-centered and uses a video, workbook, and open discussion format. A minimal fee covers the cost of the workbook; scholarships are available. A free parenting seminar, “Raising Christ-Like Kids in a Crazy World,” featuring author and national speaker Jeff Reed will be held Saturday, Jan. 21 from 9 a.m. – noon at Peachtree City United Methodist Church, 400 Windgate Rd., Peachtree City. Nativity’s parish meeting set for Jan. 22
The Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Fayetteville will hold its annual parish meeting immediately after the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, Jan. 22. New vestry (governing board) members will be elected. The parish budget for 2012 will be discussed, and the Rev. Rita Henault, rector, will present her annual “State of the Parish” report.

Holy Trinity will offer GriefShare
GriefShare sessions will start Feb.1 and Feb. 3 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City. Griefshare is a 13-week Christian video/discussion support group for those who are coping with the loss of a loved one, either recently or from years past. It is for those who may be experiencing loneliness, despair, regrets, and /or anger. St. Paul changes service times
Beginning Sunday, Feb. 5, the 8:15 a.m. traditional service at St. Paul Lutheran Church will change to 8 a.m. The church is on Ardenlee Parkway off Ga. Highway 74 in Peachtree City.
Seniors head for Columbus Jan. 27
The S.A.G.E. group (Senior Adults Going Everywhere) at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will travel to Columbus (Ga.) to visit The National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center at Patriot Park, view an IMAX movie, and have lunch at the Fife & Drum Restaurant on Friday, Jan. 27. The group will leave the church at 8 a.m. and return at 5 p.m. The cost is $15 and includes the museum. guided tour and IMAX movie, plus lunch at the Fife & Drum. Prayer group formed at Summit
A community prayer group has been formed at The Summit Family Resource Center, 1373 Ga. Highway 92 S. Fayetteville. The group meets from 9:30-10:15 a.m. on Thursday mornings. Real Life Center needs donations
The Real Life Center, which operates a food pantry, has a continuous need for food/pantry items. Donations can be dropped off at the Real Life Center, 382 Senoia Rd., Tyrone, Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. – noon, and Thursday evenings from 5-7 p.m. The center is sponsored and supported by several churches in the area.
