UPDATED Monday, 10:45 p.m. — You may see a few flakes of snow Tuesday, the National Weather Service said late Monday night, but don’t expect a big show of snow.

The forecast as of 10 p.m. Monday calls for snow showers possible across Fayette and Coweta counties through the morning hours Tuesday with most of the flaky stuff melting before it hits the warmer ground.

But a southwest wind of up to 15 miles per hour with a high of 45 Tuesday will make for a chilly, cloudy day punctuated by some snowflakes, according to the forecast office in Peachtree City. No accumulations are expected in this area.

Much colder air pushing in behind a cold front, coupled with the snow showers, will give Fayette and Coweta the first taste of weather more suited to winter, still three weeks away on the calendar.
