On Nov. 8, the citizens of Fayetteville will go to the polls to elect members for their city council. Please consider supporting my friend, Ed Johnson, in his bid for Post #1. You can learn more about him at http://edjohnson4citycouncilpost1.com/.
Ed is the senior pastor for Flat Rock African Methodist Episcopal Church. I met him eight years ago at his church. His warm reception of me as a brother in Christ helped to set the tone for my ministry as an Ambassador volunteer for Promise Keepers.
Reverend Johnson is a member of the executive committee of the Fellowship of Christian Churches and Friends (FCCF), which promotes unity among all area churches.
I know Ed to be a man of integrity and I fully expect him to honor the values of the citizens of Fayetteville.
For the record, I live in Peachtree City and I am a “dyed-in-the wool,” Tea Party kind of Republican (I’m also a member of the Fayette NAACP), but I have no qualms about supporting his candidacy.
Frankly, part of Ed’s incentive to run is so that African-Americans in Fayetteville will have a voice in their city government. Really, wouldn’t that be a good thing?
That said, as a leader with a vast amount of experience he will carefully weigh the needs of all the citizens of Fayetteville when making decisions.
If we lived in Fayetteville, my wife and I would be voting for Ed Johnson. Please choose him on Election Day.
