PTC to add two new staffers

Peachtree City has hired two additional employees, although one of the new positions will expire after a year.

A 30-hour a week intern has been brought on for the city’s planning department to help reduce a backlog of matters that must be dealt with, city officials said. That intern is being hired on a 1-year contract, and the total cost including salary and benefits is $29,571.

The city also will hire a full-time staff member in human resources who will also help with the city’s human resource policy compliance, internal controls and also pitch in on efforts to market the city through the city’s public information department.

This will bring the city’s human resources staff to three persons handling HR functions for some 236 full-time employees.

Depending on the person selected for the position, the total cost for the position including salary, benefits and pension requirements will be between $52,850 and $73,919.

Funding for both positions will come from the general fund reserve account.
