Mr. Dale W. Sweatman Jr., age 74, of Newnan, passed away Sept. 28, 2011.
He retired from Delta after 23 years of employment and was currently employed at the Clayton County Justice Center. Mr. Sweatman was a loyal member of New Hope Baptist Church and was a Mason for 50 years.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Smith Sweatman of Newnan; sons, Wes Sweatman and his wife Kathy of Fayetteville; Mike Sweatman and his wife Melinda of Fayetteville; step-mother, May Dean Sweatman of Banks, Ark.; sisters, Lena Kortes and her husband Jerry of Savannah; Mary Graham of Cleveland, N.C.; brother, John R. Sweatman of Camden, Ark.; 8 grandchildren, Kailey; Katie; Tanner; Lauren; Hunter; Sarah Beth; Emily and Will Sweatman all of Fayetteville and many other extended family members.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011 at 11 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church North Campus in Fayetteville. Dr. Ike Reighard and Pastor Rhys Stenner officiated. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
