7th man arrested in armed robberies in PTC, Tyrone

A seventh suspect has been arrested in connection with the Aug. 30 armed robbery at the Peachtree City Target and the Sept. 12 armed robberies of the Pit Stop convenience store in Peachtree City and the Sonic Drive-In in Tyrone.

Bradford J. Gibbs, Jr., 20, of Tom Bridges Road in Newnan, was arrested Sept. 26 on charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a knife or firearm during the commission of a crime, according to information supplied by the Fayette County Jail.

Gibbs’ arrest followed that of six other men taken into custody on similar charges. Four of the six previously arrested reside in Peachtree City while one is from Union City and the other from Riverdale, according to arrest reports.

Peachtree City Police spokesperson Capt. Rosanna Dove in a previous statement said the suspects were familiar with each other and had been known to associate with each other socially.

The arrests stemmed from of an investigation involving the armed robberies of the Peachtree City Target Store on Ga. Highway 74 in Kedron Village on Aug. 30, the Pit Stop convenience store on Ga. Highway 54 and Petrol Point on Sept. 12 and the Sonic Drive-In on Hwy. 74 in Tyrone, Dove said.
