Mrs. Mary Evelyn Shoaf, 76, of Fayetteville, passed away on Sept. 25, 2011. Mrs. Shoaf was a beautician, who owned her own shop in Salisbury, N.C., where she was born and raised. She was a member of Brooks United Methodist Church, where she was on the decorating committee. She also drove a bus and worked in the after school program in Brooks. She was passionate about her family and loved to decorate and cook.
She is preceded in death by her sister Alice Williams. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles Haskell Shoaf; son Tony and Kay Shoaf of Fayetteville; daughter Shanna Roberts; grandchildren Brent Shoaf, Ryan Roberts and Haley Roberts; brother Lawrence and Nancy Safley of Salisbury, NC; sister Wilma and Bobby Waller of Salisbury; brother James and Judy Safley of Salisbury.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville with Reverend Sheila Crowe and Reverend Steve Scoffield officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
